World Mission Builders volunteers have been invited by Cookson Hills Christian School to frame up their new dining room as a part of their new campus expansion project. Cookson Hills has a beautiful reputation of providing housing and education for needy children for over 56 years. Their mission statement is “Cookson Hills offers help, hope, and healing to abused and neglected children and works with their families to break the cycle of abuse, neglect, and failure by providing loving residential care education and a quality Christian education.” www.cooksonhills.org

Cookson Hills is located in beautiful eastern Oklahoma near the Illinois River, only 5 miles south of Kansas, Oklahoma. Kansas, OK is located on HWY 412 between Fayetteville, AR and Tulsa, OK. The Hwy south out of Kansas, OK is Hwy 10 to the site. Years ago in the other century when many of you were real young, Cookson Hills had a airstrip above their campus. It has long since been closed and is now the chosen site for their campus expansion program. The gym which currently includes a kitchen and a small dining room has been located on the airstrip for many years. A new school building currently under construction will be completed this fall. We have been asked to frame up the new 8300 sq. ft. dining hall. In addition six (6) residences (approx. 4000 sq. ft each) will be built on the airstrip.

We have been asked to frame up two of them in November, 2013. Our own architect Glenn Short is serving as The Architect for Cookson Hills. We will be parking our RVs & 5th wheels on the landing strip with electrical hookups and water.
Racine (MO) Christian Church and Liz Mitchell are in charge of the kitchen and meals. We will be eating three meals a day in the gym dining hall nearby. In addition to RV parking, housing will be provided in six small cabins plus housing in homes will be available.

We are planning on a couple of outings for your enjoyment. Bring tools for a typical WMB project. We will be arriving Sunday afternoon June 2nd. Soup and sandwiches will be provided. Breakfast at 7:00 am Monday and we will be beginning work at 8:00 Monday morning.
