Mexico TripsMexico is a frequent mission trip destination for World Mission Builders. In recent years WMB has constructed 4 different church camps in different parts of Mexico. Our experience is a strategically located church camp greatly enhances the evangelistic work of the area Mexican churches. World Mission Builders has yearly built a church building in Piedras Negras and surrounding areas during Spring Break. Normally we involve two or three churches and also a delegation of students from Ozark Christian College, Joplin, MO. In January, 2007 WMB volunteers built a protestant chapel in the large Mexican prison on the north edge of Piedras Negras. The Warden asked us also to build an addition on to the infirmary. We had an individual sponsor for the chapel of $7500.00 and individuals sponsored the cost of the building materials for the infirmary. The chapel/infirmary addition significantly enhances the chaplain ministry conducted largely by the area churches. In March, 2007 WMB volunteers along with volunteers from Highland Meadows Christian Church in Colleyville, TX built a large worship facility in Allende which is 40 miles south of Piedras Negras. We also networked with Christview Christian Church in Tulsa, OK, First Christian Church in Eureka Springs, AR, and Ozark Christian College in Jopin, MO. The first week we had over 80 volunteers. In July, 2007 WMB volunteers returned to Piedras Negras to build a new church building for a congregation in Nava, Mexico, just north of Allende.
